Privacy Policy

Effective July 12, 2026 · Applies to the Curls & Cocktails iOS app and curlsandcocktails.travel

The short version: we collect what we need to run a hotel-review community — your account details and the reviews and photos you choose to post. Your location is used to find hotels near you and is not stored on our servers. We don't run ads, we don't use tracking or analytics SDKs, and we never sell your data.

What we collect

Account information — your email address (for sign-in), and any profile details you choose to add: display name, username, phone number, home city/state/country, travel brand preferences, and loyalty program numbers.
Content you post — hotel ratings, notes, tags, and gym/bar photos. Reviews you don't mark private, along with your display name and username, are public and visible to other users.
Marketing preferences — whether you've opted in to email or SMS offers. We only contact you for marketing if you opt in.
Waitlist emails — if you join the waitlist on our website, we store your email to notify you about the launch.

Location

With your permission, the app uses your device's location to find hotels near you. Your coordinates are sent to Google's Places service to run the search and are not stored on our servers. You can search by typing a place name instead, and you can revoke location access anytime in iOS Settings.

Services we rely on

Supabase — hosts our database, authentication, and photo storage.
Google Places & Maps — hotel search, hotel photos, and maps.
Apple and Google sign-in — optional ways to create an account; we receive your email (or Apple's private relay address).
Stay22 — powers "Check prices"; when you tap through to book, you leave our app and the booking site's own privacy policy applies. We may earn a commission on bookings.

Each of these processes data on our behalf to provide the feature — we don't share your data with anyone for advertising, and we don't sell it.

Deleting your account and data

In the app: Profile → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, reviews, photos, votes, and follows. Waitlist or marketing emails can be removed by contacting us or using the unsubscribe link.

Security & retention

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored with Supabase using row-level security. We keep your data only while you have an account (or until you ask us to delete it).

Age

Curls & Cocktails references bars and alcohol and is intended for users 17 and older.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above.
